I am away from my easel just now but I wanted to talk about living and traveling in Mexico. SK and I live part time in a little town at the top of the Sea of Cortez called Puerto Penasco or Rocky Point. We have been coming here for about 17 years and have had a house here for 15. We are here now with our son, D-I-L and 15 month old grand daughter and some dear friends. Many people ask us if we are afraid to travel to Mexico because of all the violence and shootings. No we aren't! The violence is related to drug gangs fighting each other, not American tourists. I always say I don't go to scary parts of SLC and I don't go to scary parts of Mexico or anywhere else for that matter. So much of the fear is drummed up by the media. I know, I know but what about Juarez or Acapulco? I don't go there but I also don't go to parts of LA either. It is all about being careful. Never travel alone, do your homework.
Next I'll post about our funny experience at the American-Mexican border. TTFN
